Shannon Gallaher
spiritual director
Shannon Gallaher started Southwest Soul Care as a means to come alongside others who are seeking to deepen their relationship with God and experience the abundant life that Jesus came to give.
During a challenging season of significant life transition, Shannon unexpectedly discovered spiritual direction and found it to be one of multiple important resources that helped her grow in discerning God’s presence and guidance, and receiving His empathy and love.
Shannon Gallaher started Southwest Soul Care as a means to come alongside others who are seeking to deepen their relationship with God and experience the abundant life that Jesus came to give.
Having considerably benefited from receiving spiritual direction herself, she finds it an honor and joy to offer this service to others. She received her training in spiritual direction through the Soul Shepherding Institute, and is a member of the Christ-centered Spiritual Direction Association (CSDA) and the Spiritual Formation Society of Arizona.
Shannon has been a life-long follower of Jesus. Throughout her life, participation in church and Christian community, as well as Bible study and reflective reading have been foundational and essential to her faith. She is passionate about growing in her relationship with God, and walking with others on this journey.
Shannon, her husband, and their two young adult sons all reside in the beautiful Sonoran Desert in Tucson, Arizona. Shannon obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education at the University of Arizona. After 3 years of teaching high school math, she worked in a large corporation for over 22 years as a software engineer, and in various leadership roles. Currently, she enjoys working part time with a non-profit organization that provides spiritual formation resources. Being outdoors, spending time alone and with her family and friends, and her fluffy cavachon dog are a few things that bring her joy.
